How do I get my Grammatophyllum scriptum var. tigrinum to bloom?
I've had it 2 years and I thought maybe last spring it would bloom, but it didn't. Maybe it was the severe cold we had, maybe my growing. Has anyone grown this outside in south Florida had it bloom? What culture should it have?
It's planted in a wooden basket, about 10 plants, with 6 older bulbs, it should be mature, right? Does it need a dry winter rest?
HALP!

You definitely have a mature plant - ours blooms with 3 pseudobulbs. They do like it warm and if you had several days below 60deg, that might be the problem. Do have a cold frame set up for winter? I'm sure that would help.

Heck, we had 2 weeks of freezing weather last year. Even in my garage, with a heater running, it was still below 60%.
I may start bringing some plants inside the house. I have a florida room that's 10' across. I might put some coat rack poles across, just for that.

Either way seems to work!
I kid. I have no experience with these guys. I've just had a few Reeses too many.
