Hi Cym Ladie:
I got it from Flora Laboratories in Australia.
You can see their flask list here:
Cymbidium Orchid Clones

You can find item 5022 there.
5022 Stonehaven ‘Cooksbridge’ Orange standard, approx 15 flowers/stem

That's the one

Regards,

Rodrigo

Hmm interesting .. though I'm not sure if I would call that an 'Orange'....and I've seen quite a few oranges..
Registration would be helpful in determining the parents which would help YOU for future purchases that would work for you in the region where you live, ie. CR

curious

Hi Bob!

Yes I thought the flowers were going to be more "orange" when I bought the flasks, nevertheless, I'm still very happy with my acquisition as the flowers are awesome as they turned out, and more important to me, they bloomed very easily in my warm tropical weather

A friend gave me the following parentage for this particular hybrid. I do not know if this is accurate, but could shed more light on the subject:

Stonehaven is Cym(Putana X Cariga) It is 20% lowianum,19% hookerianum, 25% pumilum, 27% insigne and 9% Other.

Cooksbridge Is Cym(Alexanderi X Kangar) It is 19%lowianum, 13%ebernium,38% insigne and 30% unknown or other.

Regards,

Rodrigo

Hi Rodrigo
As Cym Ladye pointed out the correct spelling is probably Stoneaven and could even have been a misspelling when orig registered--I've seen that before with another Grex that she and I have discussed. But it is registered that way and so it is.. I would guess that's probably what it is given the parentage..

Rodrigo,

The RHS cross registration without the "h" is the (Putana x Cariga) parentage for this hybrid. I would make the suggestion that you make the change to your plants at this time so other recipients of plants from your flask are not misled. Flora confused you, not only by making the sloppy spelling mistake but, more importantly, by misleading you in the color and description of the plant. I would complain or at least let them know they were incorrect.

As I have said, many names undergo spelling "errors". Sometimes it is the fault of the registrant who does not bother to look up the correct spelling; sometimes it is an inadvertent addition or omission of a letter. Whatever the cause, the best thing to do is abide by the RHS spellings, whether you agree or not.

I sent them an email with the photographs.

So far, I have not received a response from them.

Rodrigo
