First flowering of cymb.
Default First flowering of cymb.

Helo seniors,
Can I get enlightened on this subject. My friend has a few dozens of Cymbs three years old. It was purchased as Hardened tissue cultured plants. Till date it shows no symptom of flowering. The plants are in a place 4500 ft MSL. and properly maintained with regular fertigation and other formalities. Kindly advice what to do?

I think it is either lighting or it is too warm. They need a temperature drop to initiate bud

Dear smartie2000,
summer temp.s go just above 80*F and winter temps goes upto 5*C. Day and night differential is well above 15*F. Light levels are quite high during the summer and low during rainy season and winter. I just wanted to know how long it takes for a plant {Cymb} from flask stage to flowering stage.

It can be as short as 2+ years and as long as 5 or more. It depends on the variety, how you grew them and how the flasks were made. I have some Sarah Jean 'Ice Cascades', Street Hawk, and Dorothy Stockstill 'Forgotten Fruits' that all bloomed in just over two years from flask, along with some Dolly hybrids. Patience

A watched pot never boils...the watchful eye of flasking makes the years seem like eternity. The back side of this...bloomin' day is like Christmas...
