Orchid3, I appreciate the information and will try it on some of my plants. I purchased Cym. Golden Elf 'Sundust' about two years ago from Santa Barbara Orchids and it had just finished blooming in a five inch pot. It was in need of re-potting so I potted it in a one gal. container and used coconut chips with a healthy amount of sponge rok. It has put out a lot of new growth in the last year or so but no flowers. I do get flowers on most of my cymbidiums but nothing to compare with growers in cooler climates. For example, I have Sara Jean 'Ice Cascade' and the poor thing only has one spike on a plant with fifteen bulbs.
