Yes, mail is a bit slow around here but very reliable.
I just got a Cymbidium lowianum bulb from Thailand and got here (you're right!) 3 weeks after purchasing.
But the bulb arrived in good shape. It was very well packed in wet newspaper in a small box that fitted in my P.O. Box. So it passed "un-noticed".
The Cymb bulbs seem to withstand a long period of "dormancy"
We have a farm in San Jose de La Montaña in Heredia with a cut flower cymb plantation.
It's about 1750 above sea level. Temperatures there range fro a low 11 degrees celsius to a high of 26 in hottest part of year. And the varieties we have seem to bloom there OK during the months of Dec. to Feb.
