Question Need some booming advice

I have a cymbidium named Kiwi Midnight "Geyserland". It's suppose to be a beautiful black flower. This one was not of blooming age when I got it but, it should be by now. I know that there are certain things that I must do such as no nitrogen in the fertilizer after August, etc. Is there a web site or can some one tell me all that goes with this to make them bloom. I am really anxious to see this one bloom. Thanks for all the info. you can give me.

Julie

I don't have all the answers and I'm sure cymb growers will respond, but cool temps in the fall, reduce watering, lots of light.... and pray!

Julie, in general, if your plant is blooming size and you've been giving it good culture during its growing season, it should be capable of spiking once your outside temperatures start to drop in the Fall (cool Fall night temperatures and/or a large day/night temperature differential is frequently cited as the key to getting cymbidiums to bloom). You can also join the Int'l Cymbidium Alliance (http://forums.delphiforums.com/n/mai...m1&nav=message), where you'll find lots of members who should be able to assist you (it is, as the name implies, a cymbidium-specific website). There's also a search function there that will allow you to review more information than you'll probably ever want to read. Good luck with your plant.
