Alright , lets see if the plant can be saved , although to be honest with you I would dump that plant and purchase one from a nursery experienced in the growing of Cyms.
It sounds to me as though the media in the pot is spent and infected with all sorts of nasties.
1)Remove the plant from the pot and dump the media and the pot into the garbage.
2)Remove all the dead roots and dried bracts from the plant ,being careful not to damage any live or emerging new roots.
3)Soak the plant in some tepid water which has a few drops of Physan included If you happen to have some super-thrive add one drop to the water (assuming that you are using a 20 liter bucket)Allow the plant to soak for a number of hours even overnight ,it will do it no harm.
4)It is very important that you use the correct media for your Cym.so take a trip to your local garden shop and purchase a suitable media for growing Cyms in your area. I use coconut husk chips .Repot the plant into a new pot leaving enough space for one or two years growth. Water the plant regularly.
5) Cymbidiums are gross feeders and the water you use should have a small amount of fertilizer in it , every time you water. Foliar feed the plant with a seaweed fertilizer once a month in the growing season. Also mist the plant on hot days to keep the humidity up.
Hope this helps
