Default Finally! Cym Swan Lake 'Bayfront'

This is another of the Cyms given to me by my friend Ron For the past two years, I've been looking at this one and wondering why I never bothered to repot it. It's in a one gallon nursery pot and I have no idea when the last time it got repotted...but this year, it's decided to say :

It has, or at least HAD, three long spikes full of buds. My husband snapped one of them off without realizing it
so now there are just two with buds and another two that are only about 6 inches long so far!

They have been in bud f-o-r-e-v-e-r and when they first started, I was thinking that the plant was mislabeled because the buds were for the longest time, a deep red color.

I'm very happy to learn I was wrong!
It's the right name on the tag!

It beautiful Sue! It's well worth the wait. I love the lip, it's so gorgeous with all those spots.

Flowers are such a nice way to remember friends who are no longer with us.

Oh, now that's a gorgeous Cym. I love the lip.

I also agree with Mike... a wonderful way to remember dear friends. I'm sure the plant has more value than just it's beauty.

Susanne

Beautiful flower for a warm-tolerant cymbidium. The plant also looks quite graceful.

Its beautiful Susanne and an awesome lip. I read that one of the best ways to get flowers is to keep the plant pot bound and that when you re-pot it might skip the following blooming season. One grower reported that re-potting should be done every five or six years or when the container splits from being root bound. That is when you have to use a saw to get the roots apart.
