Cym Lake Arrowhead 'Geyserland'
I've been nursing this one back to health for a few years now...it is part of the collection I received from my dear friend Ron
I guess it's worked!

Sue those are some very lovely flowers. I've seen 2 different cymbidiums down here but I haven't tried to get them because I'm afraid that they'll end up dying or not spiking for me.

Thanks guys
Roly, you should be able to do a Cym down there!
Mine wouldn't do anything until I started leaving them out on the lanai even when all the others went in the room for a cold night. I only put the Cyms inside when the temps are hitting the 30s. They get almost full sun too, on the lanai so the shading is about 20%.
I have another one that now has 2 spikes ready to burst and one other that is in the process of growing 5 spikes!!!

Beautiful flowers Susanne and from my experience, getting Cymbidiums to flower in Florida is not an easy thing to do. I have about a dozen plants that I grow in my daylily bed. They got none of the usual pampering this year that I previously gave them. To my surprise, most all of them are budding. I have one that is very similar to the picture of yours that hasn't bloomed since it was given to me five years ago but it has a huge spike with more than twenty buds. It should be opening soon so I will post a picture.

I'm expecting between 35 and 31 degrees early Saturday morning...everything I moved back out to the lanai this week is getting moved back in and with the 31 degree situation, I'm moving the Cyms in too
You might want to check your temps for the next two or three days before you move stuff out

I'm looking forward to your pictures, Jerry
I was told early on that these guys like "as much sun as they can get without burning" so I've always kept them very very bright. It wasn't until I started leaving them outside for the 40 degree range in temperatures that they did anything. I did have 2 bloom previously but 2 out of 8 is not a good percentage to me
