They were $14-$15 last year. I bought a few for my girl friend, before I got hooked on orchids. Now she gets nothing from me . Chids at HD are ridiculously expensive and they just let them die. They don't even put them on sale even if they're already dying. They just stick them under the benches.

hm - don't remember how much they were at costco in the past tho I am sure I have bought one a few years ago - still think the price was good at $19 - might go back for another don't know where I'd put another at the moment tho, but I am sure I could work that out!

bought a cym at HD a few years ago - I'm sure it wasnt $35! but thats the only chid I have got there - never have anything good otherwise at the one near me.

Gorgeous cym!! I'm been wanting a small green one for a while. I saw one at a garden center over the holidays that was stunning. Compact grower with long, pendant, green flowered spikes. Awesome, but it was 40€.....

White Rabbit. That is sooooo beautiful. I like the semi pendant form it has. If they ever have chids at Costco here they are mostly phals and rather beatup looking. I have never seen one worth taking home with me.

The pic of what looks to be a show is also very nice.

I agree, but not all Costco's are equal. I have found some awsum plants at other Costcos (such as the one near my B-I-L in NJ.) I once found a white NOID Phal with 4 flower spikes on 2 full plants in the same pot. Needless to say it was mine!

I think too it can be a matter of when you are there - I have been in my costco and there is a sparse selection of raggedy looking phals, and other times - like this week, seems I was there shortly after the plants were delivered, or at least put out for sale, as there were a ton of them. Most had only a few open blooms all looked good. So timing is probably a factor as well.

oooo - I have a question regarding 'warm growers' - how low can they go temp wise?
I most certainly am enjoying! thank you
