a more than 18 yr old cymbidium...and its very lovely...I wish my old NOID cym would also bloom for me...its been 2 yrs: the mini cym bloomed this fall and its got three spikes that had at least 12 flowers in each spike...I am still learning to grow Cymbidiums...

While it's flowering I would leave it. It has been waiting so long, why not let it get rid of the stress it has been through.

Btw, it is a good one. Melbourne seems to have a lot of lowianums floating around.

My mother in Vic, always had trouble with her orchids. I had mentioned what I had been told here, so eventually she repotted her orchids. She leaves them outside in a big pots, almost in a sheltered area, like an over grown garden (anything seems to grow there). Hardly takes any care of them, heavy rains, frosts, heat but they just like it where they are, I guess.

You must have very good patience.
