Toshie - Congratulations to YOU and to your MOTHER who had enough patience to keep it out of the trash! It's a lovely cym. green with the touch of red in the lip.
I had a similiar situation with a Bird of Paradise that I gave my mother 30 years ago, never bloomed, took it back and within 2 yrs. it bloomed....and continues every year. Your others a very nice also.

I think I would wait till the blooms fade then repot. Nice looking plant. Congratulations.

Toshi,

Cym lowianum is a lovely species with great potential for a beautiful display of flowers late in the season. However, be careful of assuming it is 'Pitts", although similar. It has dark red on the lip, as is typical of lowianum, but without having a tag to identify it as 'Pitts' you are always safer in applying your own clonal name. Just my worth of opinion on affixing clonal names to unknown plants.

I agree in the suggestion to wait until the blooms are past prime to repot. You have waited long enough for this display....ENJOY IT.

CL

It lived outside for 18 years while your Mother had it? That is one tough orchid! It took 3 years and you were rewarded with beautiful blooms. Congrats!

Congrats on the blooms! I think after 20 years it wants to continue to show off! That's why the blooms keep on going
