Repotting time for Cynbidiums

I am in the process of repotting 800 Cymbidiums which were deflasked in late December 2006 all of these are growing in S/H and have been on my feed program of a low nitrogen hydroponic fertilizer with all the usual macro and micro nutients ,magnesium sulphate and calcium nitrate.I also apply a foliar feed of Kelp which is a seaweed fertilizer once a month in the growing season but only during warm weather . I think the roots on the plants speak louder than words,

I have been experimenting with S/H for 8 years now and this is my first production run .
I have also been experimenting with growing Cymbidiums without using any media. My biggest problem though is finding suitable pots.
I am now considering building a vacuum former so that I can make my own pots .

Awesome roots for a two year old chid! I am interested in running a Cym. production line (using either bark or S/H). Problem is, good flasks or compots are hard to find in USA. Too much troublesome to import from say Australia. Any suggestion?

I import from Australia, but you have to know someone there who is prepared to do the spadework for you. I am fortunate that my brother lives in Melbourne, and he buys flasks for me from some of the best hybridizers in Australia and then has to go through the procedure of obtaining a phyto.certificate and posting to me in South Africa
You should be able to import from SA at very favorable prices as our currecy is very weak at the moment , but I am not so sure that you will get good stuff .
I have just started Hybridizing the Australian clones that I have imported over the last few years , these plants were all show winners in Australia , so they are from good stock. I am doing this mostly for my own production , but if I do have some flasks spare I could export depending on your country's phyto. requirements as it can be a real pain in the butt dealing with agricultural Deptartments not only here but throughout the World

Awesome growth there Des! I see similar results growing in NZ sphagnum, and using MSU fertilizer in conjunction with foliar feeding of fish emulsion 2x a month. What media are you using for s/h...I am assuming something like aggregated clay pellets or hydroton? Ever tried growing on in cubed rockwool?

Adam, I use coconut husk ,but due to the weakening of the SA currency will change this coming year to a different system altogether. I don't want to use any media , only rockwool to start the seedling off . once the roots touch the bottom of the pot it will be moved to the next size and so on and so on . My experiment in using this system has been encouraging
