Default Growing Cymbidiella

I really didn't know where to put this post as the seller of this orchid says it is not a Cymbidium, but thought I would start here. Anyone growing these? If so can how are you growing them? I purchase this on Ebay as an impulse buy. Encluding a pic of what the bloom should look like.

You want to grow this plant somewhat like a cymbidium, it needs high light levels plenty of water during active growth, lots of fertilizer and fresh air. This plant prefers to be kept with cymbidiums during the warmer months getting the same treatment as the others, but when the weather goes for the worst you must bring it inside with cattleyas and vandas. It can't take a cold spell like the cymbidiums. I personally don't have this plant but I have several freinds who have, or have had, one or two and most have done alright with their culture. They are fragrant and somewhat sequential blooming, a spike lasts two to three months with a few flowers open at a time and many buds growing from the top. Nice find, its not that common, hope you do well with it.

Thanks for replying. I don't know about your climate, but mine is brutal in summer. Right now, it is 105 deg outside. I don't even have my only Cym outside. I will try not to kill it.

From what i have seen with plants from others they simply use a mixture of fine bark and lava rock or perilite with their plants in 5 or 6 inch pots that are taller then they are wide.

I wouldn't be concerned with heat, this plant is from Madagascar and loves heat as long as it is kept moist at all times.
