I love them too and I also love their fragrance. I've been collecting different patterns and looking for strongly fragrant ones. The very dark and very lightly spotted ones have been hard to find, but I'm on the lookout. I have one variety that I think is supposed to bloom in autumn, but hasn't done that so far.
Indoor and outdoor ones seem to be thriving at the moment - lots of new growths, although one did initially get sunburnt after the move
Yes, I think we have similar climates. They are quite hardy I have seem them happily growing outside (various levels of exposure to sunlight) in the NE parts of the country where they occur naturally. But the winter rain over here means I'll have to bring mine inside (or figure out some kind of cover for them) before the winter.
