Default Cym. Black Silk 'Dreamer'

Hello everyone...
This is just starting to pop open out in the GH. This is the first bloom for me; I bought this as a single bulb and growth about 3 years ago. I'll post a follow-up when they are all fully open. The first shot is more representative of the true color; I had a bit too much reflected back light in the second.
Enjoy!
Adam

Hi Adam, I love that color! Is it a mini? I don't have any cyms so I don't know much about them. I want to get one, but it would have to be a mini. Yours is gorgeous! Thanks for sharing.

Kiki--
I've been told that this is considered to be a mico-mini (for cymbidiums at any rate...); I guess I will just have to wait and see if the next growths end up any larger than the current ones...

Actually this is probably an intermediate. The parents are Mimi and Tethys. Mimi is a miniature and Tethys is a standard.

Lovely color.

The flower may get a bit larger if the plant is repotted in a larger pot and allowed to grow a bit. Larger back bulbs from increased water and feeding help make the plant larger with more flowers.

BTW StoneDragon.. I always tell folk who are new or have trouble, I never met an orchid I couldn't kill. Just find the one you kill the least..
