Pendulous Cymbidium season
Cymbidium season in NJ starts in late October, but we have to wait till January to see the first pendulous flower spikes open. Here are 3 slightly unusual plants:
Cym. Eva Pedreros Melo (dark flowers)
Cym. Sprinkles (pink)
Cym. Gala Odyssey (white with dark lip)

The pendulous Cymbidium have some combination of devonianum, madidum and/or canaliculatum as recent ancestors. They bloom for me, whether I put them outside or not, so I think that they should bloom if grown outside in FL.
If you want to try something relatively inexpensive, I have 15 month old seedlings (12-17" tall) of two crosses with devonianum as a grandparent. I do not want to ship right now though, as local NJ temp right now is 10F (-12C).

There are many warmth tolerant pendent Cyms but the drawback is that they tend to be on the large size in plant size. Stay closest to the warm growing species for success: canaliculatum and madidum are the ones most used and in a variety of colors. Look up Lambert Day, Liittle Black Sambo (name changed), Bungy Jumper, Fifi, Gladys Whitesell, Kuranda, Mem. Connie Jo Nines and many more. A smaller blooming plant is Pee Wee in green.

Have a few more in bloom. First up is Cym. Memoria Amelia Earhart 'Scott Valine' HCC/AOS. I broke up a large plant two years ago, the piece I kept is catching up now. I bred it onto Cym. Hazel Fay 'Shocking' AM/AOS 3 years ago, and have 16 month seedlings 14-18 tall now.
Secondly, when Cal-Orchids invited a Dutch Cymbidium grower in as a guest vendor (in 2019?), I invested. Here is Cym. Dos Pueblos 'Spots' blooming for the first time.
