so i am the least experienced with cyms on here
i have 12 and the longest one since 4-2020
in that limited time i have had to repot these plants more than any other 50 orchids i have.
i tried to go with the conventional tall slim pots and vermiculite and they out grew them in 2 month. i went to 1 gallon nursery pots while i made a new plan and they split the sides of those while i was waiting for the new pots to arrive. I then went to 3 gallon nursery pots and that bought me a year, almost. Golden elf split her pot completely and this plant was starting to rise out of the pot.
I usually agree that any repotting will set a plant back and totally am sure that cyms are like that but it seems that all i DO is repot these plants lol
my goal is to see which are spikey and which are pendulous and then get all the spikey ones into these 7 gallon heavy duty pots....they will last at least 2 years hahaha
of course, being me, i have a few experiments going also (cym alifolium chunk tied to a palm) and i am trying to make these basically landscape plants.....at $6 a pot, i can divide and double these until my whole neighborhood is cyms!!!!
