Dave, when I originally posted a reply in this thread, I didn't have one of these...but I do now!

The information given to you by our other great members has now helped me too!

I recently acquired one of these and it's sitting in the screen room around the pool...very high light!
On a day with no breeze, it's fragrance can be enjoyed from a few feet away. Very light citrus fragrance...lovely!

I had one for years and it definitely responded well to warm temperatures. Never had a problem with it dropping buds when it spent the summers outdoors here in the hot and humid Midwest. In fact, it seemed to respond much better to the heat and humidity than it did to the cooler months during the fall and over the winter when it came inside (even though light levels were actually higher in the winter when it got placed in an unobstructed south-facing window; during the summer it stayed on the northeast side of the house, where it didn't get hardly any direct sun and it still grew and flowered very well). The smell it inherited from ensifolium is great, but is a lot less intense than ensifolium's. If you get a chance to pick up an ensifolium (they aren't hard to find and the "garden variety" are relatively cheap), you'll have no trouble knowing when it's in flower. The flowers are very small for a cymbidium, but they are intensely fragrant during the day. Good luck!
