It depends on what you want. If you want lots of flowers, keep big divisions together.

Yes, with good care they will multiply. There is a Cymbidium forum here. You might find it intresting browsing there. There are a lot of good posts by a Northern California member with username Cym Ladye.

Just pop each portion as they are now in pots. Just keep them as they are now ........ no more dividing or separating. The more bulbs in a bunch ...connected together..... the better it is generally.

Thanks for your response. I put those smaller divisions in pots. But I was wondering what to do with those sun burnt leaves? They seem to be getting more discolored and some are drooping. Would you recommend leaving them or cutting them with sterilized scissors?

NJ ----- I reckon those burned leaves are probably done ----- maybe not going to make it, or just gone already. I would just allow them to just dry out and go hard. You can always snip them off later. If any are mushy or really soft, then go ahead to snip them off. The cym is expected to keep growing anyway. It should be ok.

For outdoor Cyms in the bay area you don't need to worry about sterilizing scissors. Fungal diseases are rare in midsummer when it's pretty hot and dry out. You can cut off the leaves if they bother you; I would leave them on to provide a little shade to the growths that should soon begin at the bases of the pseudobulbs.
