Just wanted to update, it is FINALLY starting to bloom!! Don't know if I mentioned it before but the ID is Neal Tadlock.... Not a huge bloom spike but very excited for the rest to open!

I was concerned when I first saw your photo with the spike heading straight out over the pot edge and assumed it was a standard. I should know "never to assume". Neal Tadlock is actually a pendulous Cym and is doing just what it should do but with fewer flowers. You can expect at least 12-14 flws on a pendent spike on a well grown plant. Yours came through peloric (lateral sepals matching the lip) which is also good. Is there a cultivar name after the grex name?

I didn't know it was pendulous either, which explains my failed attempts at training it upwards, next year I will accommodate it more appropriately! It is a small bloom, but it has 10 beautiful flowers and considering this is my first time blooming a cymb I am quite happy with it! Unfortunately, the tag just says Cym Neal Tadlock so not much help there, I can't remember if there was more in the description from when I bought it.

Is there a number on the original tag? Where did you get the plant? Both might give you an idea if you have a mericlone, division or a seedling.

Ok I looked it up for you, the parents are cym. devonianum and cym. Son of Freak..... I believe it is a mericlone..... Believe it or not I got it from a seller on Amazon, I know it's not the most reputable way to purchase orchids but this time I got a good one....

If you got it on Amazon it undoubtedly is a mericlone. Too bad you do not have the cultivar name, but it may show up. I do not think a lot of different cultivars of Neal Tadlock were mericloned.
