Default Cym. goeringii, variegated form

Cymbidium goeringii, with variegated leaves and flower. This particular plant is very late for blooming this year....I don't know why, but guess better later than never.

In Cym. goeringii, variegation of the leaves can sometimes also appear on the flowers, creating an interesting-looking plant.

What is it potted in? Looks like Sphagnum moss. I have a flask of variegated goeringii I bought from Taiwan in March but they need to come out. Any advice for what I should put them in? I am considering mini bark and perlite.

Do the flowers have the normal texture or do they feel more like the leaves?

Sphagnum is just some extra top dressing, something to keep moisture in. The plant itself is potted in pure inorganic mix of pumice, lava rocks and perlite, no bark. Bark and perlite would be just fine though. Just watch out for black rot! Constant air movement is very important.

It is just the color. The flower itself is standard goeringii flower...with glossy, thick and firm texture.

Thanks. I was wondering because some lines of Clivia plants sometimes produce a bloom that is quite harsh in texture, more like a leaf, with outer petals matching the colouring of the leaf, but with all the other characteristics of a bloom.
