My Sedirea arrived a few days ago from Oak Hill and looks great! I posted a picture in the gallery, and I am soooooo excited for it to bloom!!! I have never grown a mounted plant before, and I was wondering if it would be difficult to place it in a pot after if flowers??? I really like the look of mounded moss at the top of the pot... I think I might do this with a few of my Phals as well. Moving day is quickly approaching, though my new place has a PERFECT area out back for my Cattleyas and Dendrobiums... I might put the low-light plants out there too under a tree... orchids always seem to grow better for me outside in the summer. The trouble is, how am I going to move all of these plants?!?!?!

Default Sedirea japonica & friends

I've gotten my project plants during the International Orchids Exhibition in Thun (Switzerland) this weekend. It was not easy to find any of them, as the nurseries supposed to bring them did not show up in Thun I commented it wit one of my favorite german vendors, who told me he had seen some Sedireas at the Ching Hua Orchids stand. For my surprise they not only had Sedirea japonica, but they had two different clones and 4 different Neofinetia falcata well... I could not resist, and bought two of each...

Project N° 6:

Here you can see both plants from two different views:

This is the standard plant with a close-up of the flowers:

and the Sedirea japonica 4N (Is this the same as Minmaru? )

Of course these plants could not travel alone, and I decided to get some friends for them. Phalaenopsis amabilis 'Variegated' (2 - 3 years to bloom) & Phragmipedium Jason Fischer (with two new growth... lost the last flower in the car )

OMG Ramon! You certainly brought in the haul! It does look like the little Sedirea is the Minmaru..... but I'm not positive. Same shape to the leaves though Good hunting! You did so well!

well, the exhibiton in Thun was nice, but not the best I have ever seen. However, the section where the vendors were selling their plants was really impressive. Of course many Phals and other plants for the windowsill, but also many many good plants in most of the stands. I really had a great time there but had to take care of a friend of mine who had never been in an Orchids show, and went mad buying plants... She bought 7 different Catts and 5 Paphs... I think if she would have been alone she would have gotten more than 20 plants including Phragmis, Pleiones und Masdevallias... it was really funny, and I could make some good connections with swiss orchids fans and some new nurseries I did not know...

OMG!!!! SCORE OMG!!!! SCORE OMG!!! SCORE!!!

You lucked out and found some beautiful plants. They look perfectly healthy and well cared for.

That rounded leaf Sedirea sure does look like the Minmaru! NICE

I would love to find one of the variegated Phals. . .for my own!!! I don't yet have one of those.

And the Phrag is awesome too!

Excellent WORK!

I would have lost it. . .at that show!

Ramon, what other clones did they have? I think we're gonna need a listing. Think yew. We'll let you know, which ones you need to go back and get.
