Honestly, I have no clue. There is every week some new orchid I discover, new species I did not even know about, and new piece on my list as #1. Just for fun I did Google the most expensive orchids and none of them interested me as much as the ones more commonly accessible:-) I can't wait for other members to comment here, I am sure I will learn about many new orchids with this thread!

I actually think I have acquired all of my "Holy Grail" plants and did not put down more than $100. They were Dendrobium bryerianum, Dendrobium harveyanum, Epidendrum ilense. How about you what would you get

Well the one that IS on my list is Dimorphorchis Lowii. Price tag for near blooming $130, blooming size between $500 to $1500. That's the most expensive I would want at this time:-)

I got my previously two most wanted - Cym tracyanum last year, tho only a propagated back bulb, so still have to wait a while for it to be bloom size; and a few months ago, a bloom size Vanda couerulea, which I am happy that not only have I not killed it yet, but it's growing (I'm entirely new to Vandas)

So now - if "affordable" to me weren't an issue, or should I come across one that fits my very limited budget - a bloom size, dark variety of Cym tracyanum

I have them all: Cinnamomum zeylanicum/verum, theobroma cacao, piper nigrum, and angraecum magdalenae. Life is good.

Mine is the V. merrillii; I located it 2 months ago. Today, I did my weekly "pull the leaves apart and look for a spike routine" and guess what...a spike (well a nub)!!!

I'm happy you've acquired all of your "Holy Grails"!

I love this plant also, I have one newly deflasked seedling, so I have a long wait. No big deal, I'm willing to wait. Hopefully, it'll bloom by the time my 1 and 2 year old graduate high school!! Lol!!

Love the V. coerulea!! I know the budget thing is what stinks when your an orchid addict, there's always one more plant that gets added to the list (or at least mine)!

I would like to get my hands on a whole bunch of cochleanthes and bolleas, but most of all I'd love to be the proud owner of a neomoorea wallisii.
