Wow, I'm feeling right at home here...
I started my collection in March/07 and I've currently got 67 orchids, half of which are slippers. I grow on a windowsill and have supplemental fluorescent lights as well, but space will definitely be the limiting factor to how many I ultimately end up with. Not done yet

I seem to be able to maintain 55-60. right now, I have 58. I thought I had 60, but when I went to look, my Phal. gibbosa died and the other Phal. chibae is nothing but roots that are dieing so I can't count it as part of my collection until it blooms again, cause I don't know if its P. chibae or P. gibbosa, lol.

Thanks Susanne. It's no wonder he has so many beautiful orchids for our special viewing of "Show 'n' Tell".
And he backs it up with so much information about the orchid itself. I really enjoy his entries and of course the OB IN GENERAL!

I started growing in 2004 with 1 phalaenopsis and when I did my inventory in the spring as I unloaded the greenhouse I counted 289, but i'm sure it's closer to 430 now... I think I have a problem... I used to buy 1 or 2 every so often, then it was 1 or 2 a month, then 1 or 2 a week, and now I buy them dozens at a time.....
