I am currently at an all-time high of 98. Back in the late 1990's I had 70 or so then by 2005 it dropped to 32 but my enthusiasm has peaked again and with a greenhouse at work to house the spill-overs as well as an office window, I have more space to play with. In my house there are 65, 10 in my office at work and the remaining 23 in the greenhouse. Guess I should get 2 more to make it an even 100!

The question is: How many plants do have? or How many different orchids do you have?
I have lots of duplicates/triplicates of many plants, so I guess I have ~150 plants, but "only" ~100 different orchids....

He-he...243 different kinds (not counting the three coming tomorrow, 2 being duplicates)...the 260 is because of a few duplicates

I just traded for species number 80. But if you count divisions from those plants, 90-100. Started collecting this year.

Well, if you count all those in pots and on walls....(covers her head with a bag) I have around 350ish. If you count the ones in various stages of flask and community pots lol..well that number grows by 600 more at least. Yes, I know I have a problem..lol but no I do not want to seek help

I haven't counted in quite a while...do we count the ones planted/mounted out in the yard? I suppose I have about 300. Two slat houses are full and eyeing another corner on the other side of the house to build a phal house.
My problem is I went overboard a few years back and my tastes have become more refined as well as specific. Don't know what I was thinking some time ago with interg. oncids...ewwww....have since pitched. Now I'm catts and brassavola crosses, vandas, dends. There are a few misc. others, but for the most part you'll see big clay pots full of aliflor and catts.
One very good lesson I learned was to really evaluate your plants and cull what doesn't thrive...something that just exists is a weak plant. It not only takes up bench space, but a weak plant is suseptible to disease/pests.
It's not about quantity, its QUALITY that matters.
