Thanks Marty!
I've been out of town all weekend, and am only just back. I'll be traveling again tomorrow-Wed, as a close friend was killed in a car accident last Thurs, and his wife and daughter just asked me to pipe for tomorrow's service in Northern Maine.
I'm very grateful to everyone who participated - authors, sponsors and voters. It was fun - thanks! I'll be back in touch when I get back on Wed.
Best,
Julie

How horrible! I'm sorry to hear that. Hope everything goes smoothly and calmly. Hope you get back well. I lost an uncle in a car accident. Not a happy time to say the very least.

Hi Marty,
I want to post an update, now that I've had a chance to speak with Kristofer from the Orchid Shop ( http://www.theorchidshop.ca/), and his greenhouse manager, Christina. What a wonderful sponsor to have!
They've got some great plants, even though they're not listed yet on their Website, and they're a delight to work with. Not to mention orchid prices in their area are depressed, and they're selling mostly blooming-sized plants for an incredible bargain! I love Christina's frank assessment of her plants. Some come direct out of Central America and are a little beat up, but she'll tell you if that's the case. (I have no problem with that, but appreciate the head's up.)
These are clearly orchid lovers who want to share their passion, and aren't looking to gouge on prices. For a nominal phyto charge (I believe it will be about $13 for mine and Tindo's plants), they can ship to the U.S.
They have lots of Onc alliance, Catts, Masd's, and misc other genera. Forum members should definitely check them out!
Thanks again,
Julie

Thanks Julie, that's great to hear. I knew OrchidShop was a great place just by talking to Kristofer. Great sponsor indeed

Hi all,
I wanted to update on my win. I got two Catts from the Orchid shop. I was very impressed by their willingness to help out and answer all my endless questions. They were very easy to deal with, and considering they are located in BC Canada and I am in NYC, shipping was extra extra fast!!!!
Thanks Orchid Shop!!!

Safe landing!
My Canadian emigres showed up this afternoon! Unfortunately, I was out all day and am headed first thing in the morning to NH until late Wed. The critters were shipped bare root last Thursday, and I have a long evening of potting ahead!
But don't feel sorry for me - I have a huge grin on my face!
Here's the stash, but no time for photos till I get back. Besides, they'll kill me when they grow up, if they found out I posted bare-assed baby pictures on the Web...
With the gift cert I got:
Lycaste Cassiopeia 'Wyld Peach' AM/AOS
Odm (or Cyrtochilum) edwardii
Psychopsis papilo
Brassia caudata
Additionally I purchased (because I wanted to give Kris and Christina some busines...and because I couldn't help myself!):
2 x Bllra. Tahoma Glacier 'Green' (one is a gift)
Bllra. Marfitch 'Howard's Dream' AM/AOS
Odcdm. Dena Reinikke (Odm. bictoniense var. alba x Onc. varicosum var. rogersii)
Masd. santae-inesae in bud (as a gift to the Dartmouth College collection)
All are blooming size plants. And I must mention that the Lycaste is a tremendous specimen-sized plant from Christina's (the greenhouse manager) personal collection. Here's what I can expect for a flower:

OK - gotta go pot! Thanks again to Kris and Christina for such wonderful plants, and to Marty for running the contest!
