I would like to put some pictures up for selection as contributions for the calender.

If I have a few pictures of the same plant and cannot bring myself to pick one over another, can I send them in for selection (rather then me making the choice).

And if that was the case, should I send them in the same email or should each email only have one picture each?

Cheers

Marty, on the off-chance that a photo of mine was chosen for the calendar...is there any possibility that the URL to my society's page on flickr be included in the photo's caption?

http://www.flickr.com/groups/ossc/

If it's a matter of space then I certainly wouldn't mind having my society's flickr URL replace my name.

As I've mentioned previously...it's not the easiest thing to get members of my society to join the OrchidBoard. If the Calendar could help promote local orchid societies...then I wouldn't be surprised if more orchid society members joined the OrchidBoard. It would certainly give me a great excuse to promote the OrchidBoard calendar contest in my society's flickr group and facebook page.

For example, there are two really great photographers / orchid growers in my society...Orchid Dude and harry9675. If their photos could potentially help promote our society then I wouldn't be surprised if they decided to join the OB.

It has quite an amazing history: According to a web page from the University of British Columbia, it was discovered in Ecuador in 1976, found to have disappeared under clear-cutting six months later, but nevertheless was successfully micro-propagated by Marie Selby Garden in FL (where I found it in early 2011), and is now prospering in many other sites.

AND... recently rediscovered in the wild.

OTOH, I'm pretty new to orchids, so maybe stories like this are not so unusual(?)...

Already I flubbed! Should have posted the 640 first. Believe that the attachment in my e-mail to "2012" (entry submission address) may be a bit too dark. Would like permission to resubmit the same image, with brighter tones all around.

I don't think I have any pic to submit... :bua: My poor camera is too old to be able to take pics that are large enough. They're just below the cut off size.
