Here's one from me for the calendar competition. It is a native orchid of the east and south coasts of the US called Crested Yellow Fringed Orchid (Platanthera cristata). Photographed in situ.

Yes: that is correct.
@Marty: I think we should have a portrait calendar one year (maybe 2013). Some plants just don't photograph that well in landscape (Gongora, some Stanhopeas, other stuff that has a hanging flower, some Aerangis). It would give a different feel calendar.
