How long have you been growing orchids?

I fell in love when taking a Botany course in college. I was fascinated with the science behind the plants, and after seeing some live specimens up close and personal, I decided to adopt one of my own.

My original plant is still living, and actually just bloomed for the first time in my care last month. it was on clearance at lowes because it had dropped all of it's flowers. I've had her since February of 2008, and I finally got to appreciate her true beauty. It was exciting to finally see what the flowers looked like.

I bloomed my first Catt. when I was 7. Twelve years later and I'm still growing. Though, I have to manage my collection from afar for most of the year now, since I'm at school.
