I have an article ready but I don't understand how to fill in "URL alias". I was told what I put in was invalid. Also, how do I include pics with the article?

Hi Sandra,

The URL alias is just to give your article alternate name of getting to it. If you put "my-orchid-article" in the alternate URL then you will be able to get to it by going to www.orchidboard.com/my-orchid-article that's all. This will also help out greatly with Search Engine Optimization (SEO). Properly named article will get much more hits from engines.

As far as formatting your article, you will probably find this useful, tells you about the image tag also

You can edit your articles by the way.

I have published my article and I can access it under "Home". However, I can't figure out how to put the pics into it. HELP!!!

Hi Sandra, step one is the pictures must be hosted somewhere online. Best place to put them is right here into the orchidboard gallery.

Click on Gallery from the Site menu on the left side, then upload the pictures to the server by selecting "UPLOAD PICTURES"

once pictures are there, use the img tag to place them within your article like so:

[img] http://galery_link_to_picture/my_picture.jpg [/img]

Thanks for the help, Marty. I posted the pics in the Gallery and then edited the article to tell how to find them. Hope this is what you meant.

I didn't see the pics in your post Sandra. I edited the post and placed the pic for you there. I used HTML, this way I could wrap them inside the text , for security reasons users don't have HTML enabled. If anyone needs any picture adjustments let me know...I'll probably do it without your knowledge anyways, hehe Putting pictures with the regular [img] tags will work just fine.

Sandra, I removed the reference to the pictures in your text, hopefully that's OK, since I placed the pix in the text
