I'm glad this was bumped too, I had not seen it. For me it was a fast decision. Pleuros! I grow quite a few of them, their flowers and growth forms really please me and I find them very challenging too. Coming is as a close second are the Bulbos, same reasons, except thanks to their heat tolerance a bit easier to handle.
I guess my interests in orchids have gone in phases.
I have had my Phal phase, and Bulbo phase and now I guess I am in my Pleuro phase, except this phase is lasting much longer.
One alliance that hasn't done much for me at all are Dendrobiums. I don't know why, I just don't like them. And I seem to have a few of them (gifts from my wife's side of the family) so I am forbidden to get rid of them.

I think they were blowing me hello kisses. So I have to blow them back. 
I really can not say that my plant acquisitions have gone in phases other than in recent years I have expanded a little into a few other vandaceous. Still can not be without my Cattleyas and Phals. One thing that I have never been able to understand is why Phals were separated into their own alliance. They are still vandaceous no matter how you what to look at them.
