That's what makes me disappointed. There have been some really worthy images posted here that couldn't make the cut simply becasue the poster had no clue how to upsize. This thing gets better every year (IMO) and maybe next year we'll have some newbies win the top spots (that's my dream ) I personally would like to see lots of participation. what about planning a weekly calendar for next year? then there would be place for 4 Pics per month... LOL

We do have a fine mix of newbies and "regulars" in this year's calendar. Lots of us just know how to point and shoot...we're not photographers, we're orchid lovers

That's my point (and shoot ) I think. Yes we have lots of members with really neat orchids and pretty decent photos. I've seen lots of really nice photos over the last year and I wouldn't want the job of narrowing down the list, so to speak. It's too long a list . I really look forward to the 2009 calendar. As the membership grows, so does the choice of photos. That's a good thing, methinks!

There are some super nice pictures again this year! I can't wait to order a calendar!
And from now on I will be sure to take my orchid pictures in the required resolution (which my poor camera just barely can do) so that next year I can actually submit something.

That's exactly what happened to me Ross. I had some nice pics of more interesting orchids but the res. was too low. The pic I submitted was OK but the flower wasn't one of my cooler ones, but it was the only one in bloom at the time. Next year I'll be better prepared.

Congrats Everyone. Well deserved. Do we have to wait till the calendar comes out to find out who the people are behind the lens? This will be a spectacular calendar. I will need 2 when available
