Gracious, sorry guys! I should have clarified. As you discovered- Craisins are "Cranberry Raisins." They're dried cranberries. All the rage in some places over here.

We could do a "way super beginner's" baking/cooking project in the future, perhaps. Though this is about learning and sharing, we're all here to help you along!

Stopping in to beg apologies...I'm sorry I haven't been in the thread or done the cookies. Once again, life seems to be getting in the way.
Sooner or later, I'll win the battle

Hopefully, your next baking project will be one I can join

I don't think you need to be more than a cookery begginer to make cookies.
Come on Rosie! have a go! I will too... (last time I baked cookies was 20+ yrs ago!! we can use "anyhting" in the place of dried cranberries.? what do you think?
... Hazel nuts & nutella?
... walnut & honey?.... carrot & walnut, with honey? .......etc, etc.,etc.......

carrot and especially zucchini are great in baked goods.
Golden raisins might be an interesting sub.
I can't believe there aren't dried cranberries of one brand or another in Europe. fascinating how that works.

Default Uk/ euro zone conversion

Here is the recipe with ounces and gram conversions - the nut weight is based on half a cup of pecans, which is a mid range weight nut

INGREDIENTS:

2/3 cup butter or margarine, softened (or crisco) 5.4 oz 153g
2/3 cup brown sugar (or "brown" Splenda, if available. I've done half brown sugar, half white Splenda) 4.7 oz 135g
2 large eggs
1 1/2 cups rolled oats 4.25 oz 120g
1 1/2 cups flour 150g 5.25 oz 147g
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 6-ounce package Ocean Spray® Craisins® Original Dried Cranberries
2/3 cup white chocolate chunks or chips 120g 4.2oz
(A la Izzie:
1/3-1/2 cup macadamia nuts, coarsely chopped. May substitute almonds.2.1 oz 60g
Cinnamon, cardamom, and/or nutmeg per taste.)

So come on, Rosie, no excuses, Asda has dried cranberries at a £1 a pack (170g/6oz)

Actually I found not just dried cranberries but 'Ocean Spray® Craisins®' in Sainsburies when shopping last night But it doesn't mean I can cook

Maybe I'll get hubby to make them over the weekend

Love your idea Ramon about the candied lemon/orange peel and roasted almonds!

Hedge: thanks!!!!!!!!!! for making the effort and converting all the weights!
