My two Coelogyne cristata are growing on th eglassed balcony (no heating) and seem to enjoy temps of around 45 - 48ºF during the night and 48 - 52ºF during the day. Duringthe last two nights, Temps have fallen down to 37ºF an dthis seems to be the case for the next 1 or two weeks. Would that be to cold for them? Or should I bring them in the appartment (average temp: 70ºF)? Will thi schange be to drastic for them? would this affect the blooming? (2 spikes starting to grow - approx. 2 inches long each)
Ramón, My cristata is in a similar situation - on an unheated glass enclosed side porch. I wouldn't bring them in - especially since you're getting flowers!
When I got mine, I found this article which states:
Quote:
Winter days average 51-55°F (11-13°C), and nights average 36-39°F (2-4°C)
and the lowest low can be well below that 2-4°C....
