Well, I finally did it, I got myself a Coelogyne for the very first time. A beauty from Andy's orchids. So far I cannot smell anything from it, so not sure if it's fragrant or not, but the flowers are wonderful. Yay!

What a beauty! And mounted! Loving it!

Hoping we get updates once in a while, mounted Coelogynes are not that popular and I'm starting to mount some myself to see the results.

Good luck with it!

Thanks, Yéri and nikkik! I was told that it blooms on every new growth, so hopefully I'll have more updates as it grows.

Not so easy to flower, as it needs a fairly dry prolonged bright cool winter rest. But in my eyes one of the most beautiful Coelogynes.

Bright cool dry is easily doable here in San Diego. Particularly this year! Andy told me he waters his all year, and they certainly look happy. I wonder if it depends on the length of daylight for how dry they should get. He did say he waters less in winter, maybe once or twice per week for these.

I kept mine gradually drier as soon as I saw the pseudobulb forming up, but the plant didn't seem to notice as it came up with 3 new shoots a couple of weeks ago...damn this year's mild winter! Messed up most of my winter rests =/
