Default Coel cumingii

A nice surprise, I thought it was just a new growth a few weeks ago.

I lucked out Paul, it is a 3 bulb division that I bought on a society table a few shows ago. I just noticed it does seem to have a faint nice fragrance as well.

I'm now being told by other growers on another forum that the plant is probably not cumingii......but rather unchained melody. I will put a question mark behind it on the label and love it anyways!

As far as I am concerned you have the correct orchid...and if it has a tag that goes with it then you better abide by it unless an expert on orchids says you have a mislabelled plant.
Look at the photos I researched for you:
I dont see anything that says you have a different orchid.
* the first twi pics is from a Thai grower...
the next is from an australian site
then the orchid wiki picture compared to your picture

you have the correct orchid as per pictures of those sites and growers

Thanks Bud for doing the research on this. Those pictures resemble my plant very closely. I will leave the tag as is and maybe have those questioning have a look at the pictures that you've posted.

Unchained Melody has a totally different ruffled lip and the bulb is short and round...your bulb is oblong and a bit thin and elongated which is true for cumingii

That one is a little tougher to grow by my limited experience, needs to be cooler I think....I've had it bloom but not as often as some of my others.
