I think it's a beautiful flower. I would love to get one of those. Are they fragrant?

No it doesn't, this species doesn't need that temperature as a minimum and many people grow it cold and flower it well. So it's something else in my culture.

Thanks for investigating though.

Not much chance for my Cristata up here in Brisbane, is there, Darren. Have had mine for over over a year now.Only a few extra pseudobulbs have popped up since.Coelogyne cristata-ceologyne-cristata-jpg. Grown in a shadehouse all year 50% shadecloth. Looks healthy, can anyone advise when I might see some flowers, or am I expecting too much from this little tyke?

That's awesome! It is the project 9 plant (cool) I took a chance by it being a cool grower and have not had any luck getting it to bloom.

I think mine is slowly dying. I don't think it can take the heat.

Dave, what is the temp. there at the moment?
As our temp. here in Brisbane, in summer, gets to around 30 deg. C. and mine survives, and in fact has grown from my previous post.

Highs around 28 deg. C. but I think the summers are to hot for it at 35 deg. C. Do you know if these require a winters rest from water and or fertilizer?

I believe so. I'm only a novice with the Cristata, they do grow them more in the south of Australia, maybe someone else might chip in here.
