Default Bletilla ochracea

So surprised this bloomed for me! I planted it outside along a rhododendron border that receives morning sun. Last winter we had a freak coldfront that caused 8F lows for over a week! I had just planted this poor thing the previous summer and didn't expect much out of it, as none of my striatas have bloomed successfully (this year one clump finally managed to spike, but the buds blasted. I blame moles disturbing the roots! ).

Not as showy as Bletilla striata, and much smaller, but still beautiful. And at least this one seems to like me!

I have this in my yard and it blooms reliably every year in the spring. You will have great success with it as long as it's needs are met. That being said, I don't really do much with mine. I just water it and leave it be, lol...
