Hi all, anyone have some reccomendations for Dendrochilums that will do well in Southern California (Orange County)? I am about 15 miles inland so I have a little drier microclimate and a bit more extreme temp fluctuations in the winter and summer. I like to grow mainly outdoors. I would love a species that is fragrant too. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
Sydney's temps aren't too different from LA's...Bill Dobson includes the following Dendrochilum species in his outdoor grow list... Dendrochilum arachnites, bicallosum, cobbianum, filiforme, glumaceum, tenellum, wenzelii.
Thanks for the input! I thought wenszelii might work, and I really liked the red flowers, but I just wanted to check with the "gurus" on the board first. Good to know I am on the right track. I'll look into tenellum and the others too. I haven't yet grown any of these and didn't want to completely bomb out on my first try. I really love the grassy foliage.
Thanks Phillip, I think I'll try tenellum and wenzelii on the boards reccomendations. Just got to wait for some extra money now . As always, you guys are the best...
