Hi Guys, I thought I'd post a picture now that both sets of flowers are out The second one only has 4 flowers, but hey, I'll take 10 out at the same time any day of the week!

Beautiful and well grown Jenny. I'm the "orchid Friend" of paulas who bought this same plant a few weeks ago. Love it and all my other coels. After looking at your culture advice, I will have to pay more attention this falll as to which of mine are the cooler growing and manage them accordingly. What media do you use for your coels?

Thanks All my Coels are in straight medium bark... actually, all my orchids are in that except my restrepia and my pleiones - I'm not very imaginative with my potting mix, but, touch wood, I haven't lost one yet so they obviously don't mind too much! I think some Coels need that extra little drop (like this, cristata and flaccida) while others only need a cool-ish intermediate temp (However, I can't speak to surely about those 'others' as I only have ochracea/ nitida, cristata and flaccida - this is just the impression I get from others).

This is stunning, Jenny. I wish I had room to grow these, but ... alas, I don't.

Thanks Ron This particular type of coel was the first orchid I tried after I branched out from phals, so it holds a special little spot in my heart

I had the opportunity to see and smell the blooms of this coel at my last orchid society meeting and immediately fell in love! Thanks for sharing your pictures I'll be sure to post some of mine once I get my little hands on one!

Looking forward to it and I know you won't be disappointed (and so do you now that you've seen/ smelled first hand!). I have so enjoyed carrying this one around the house with me depending on where I'm working at the time, the only thing keeping me from being sad about knowing the flowers will go eventually is that my other plant is getting ready to put her flowers out in a few weeks
