Hi all,

Was watering yesterday and was very pleased to see a few more of my coels are in spike. I have some that really should be repotted & cleaned up after they flower. Just wondering what people find is the best mix to plant them in. I have about 1/2 in bark and the other 1/2 in spag. Thanks in advance for your feedback.

Since Coelogyne species do NOT like to have their roots disturbed, I use 50% coconut husks and 50% Extra Coarse perlite/charcoal on my plants.

Thanks Okie. Guess I will repot some in a bark/coco/charcoal & perlite mix and some in some neat baskets in spag...and see which do better. Any other suggestions from coel. growers?

I admit I'm boring with my mix! All mine are in straight medium fir bark chips (I have 2 x ochracea, a cristata, a cristata var alba and a flaccida). All have spikes at the moment apart from the cristata var alba (which isn't quite big enough) and are growing nicely, so they obviously don't mind being in just bark.
