Some Dendrochilums Male
Default Some Dendrochilum species

All plants belong to my parents I only took the pictures. The first 3 Dendrochilums are rather similar tenellum looks different but luzonense and graminifolium are very similar. Are they the correct names?

Dendrochilum williamsii

Dendrochilum stenophyllum #1

Dendrochilum stenophyllum #2

Dendrochilum javieri

Great photos, Rob! These varieties are all new to me so I can't help with IDing them. Looks like your parents really know what they're doing!

Wow, great photos. Such difficult ones to photograph well but you've done a great job. Those closeups are really cool and they look stunning in the wider shots as well.

Hi Rob

Identifying the non obvious Dendrochilum without a close up picture of the labellum and column is never guarenteed.

My guess work is as follows:

Given the shape of the labellum and the fact the mid-lobe does not appear to have an apiculum I believe your plant number one could be Dendrochilum williamsii.

I believe your plant number two could be Dendrochilum stenophyllum given the shape of the labellum. The side lobes of Dendrochilum luzonense are very wide, bigger and much more noticable than the mid-lobe.

I believe your plant number three could also be Dendrochilum stenophyllum due to the shape of the labellum. Dendrochilum graminifolium has side lobes much longer than the mid-lobe and an apiculum on the mid-lobe.

These are really nice plants and thanks for sharing.

Cheers
Trey
