Default Dendrochilum gracile

Very easy grower, it doubles in size each year. I grow it intermediate/warm and fairly bright, mounted on a 3"x4" block of tree fern. 22 spikes this year! Thanks for looking.

Beautiful plant! How often do you water it? Does this species stay compact or does it become large? The only dendrochilum I own is magnum, and there's no way I could ever get it to grow mounted, even though I think mounted orchids are beautiful. Any scent to your plant's flowers?

Steve

Since it's mounted, it gets sprayed every day. I feed it weekly with half-strength MSU fertilizer. Dendrochilum gracile is a small to miniature species; longest leaf is six inches. Definitely not like magnum! The whole plant is about eight inches across. Also differs from magnum in having no scent that I can detect; magnum can be kinda overpowering!

Yes, magnum's scent can be "overpowering." :-) Actually, I think it's downright nasty, like something you'd get a whiff of in a college chemistry lab. I'll have to look out for a plant of gracile. The flowers on yours are quite attractive.
