Default Coel. South Carolina

this plant has been taking up a lot of space in my greenhouse for two years.....not a bloom in sight, then i leave for a few months and whammo! 3 enormous spikes of wonderful flowers!! i missed seeing it bloom, but my sis in law took this photo for me....enjoy!

Wonderful: maybe I should have been more patient with my C. Burfordiense - after 3 years I finally gave up and gave the plant away and replaced it with a slightly smaller and more compact growing C pandurata. Which incidentially I almost got to flower: a spike bud developed in April, then we had a spell of bad weather and it stopped!

well they are slow as molasses to bloom but i think i got the system down pat this year....besides i have heard that they dont like to be dissturbed, and i had to move up in pot size several times....now it is hanging off the edge of a ten inch pot! i will have to move it up or cut it up soon...
