Default Dendrochilum filiforme

Got this one last year. In one year it nearly doubled in size (typical for Dendrochilum species), and gifted me with seven bloom spikes. Each spike is about a foot long. Individual flowers, at least a hundred on each spike, are about 1/8". Very faintly fragrant during the day, an odd mix of sweetness and soap bubbles. I grow this one intermediate, fairly bright light, in sphagnum moss mixed with tree fern, and watered every other day - these guys are water hogs!

Thanks for looking!

You should definitely consider getting one. They put on a really nice display and are easy to grow!

Stephen,

I was wondering if you've noticed any additional requirements for the filiforme over the last year n a half?
I've had mine for over 2 years now, gotten good growth that fills a 4" pot, receives bright to medium light, grown warm to intermediate, watered well and fertilized weakly weekly but yet no blooms! Just wondering if there's a trick or two I'm missing. Any help would be much appreciated!

I had dendro. magnum that has a soapy, clean scent. I couldn't keep them from rotting. Loved the smell though.
