I thought, I'd share a picture of this spike. It has been quite amazing to watch it, develop and this is definitely going to flower! Bought the plant last year, and when the spike first developerd I thought it would be a new shoot. After a while it started to look odd, and hey was I positively surprised by how it turned out.

At the same time, I was less lucky with C pandurata this year. It had a new growth which matured in March: the growth developed a little flower bud and then the weather turned bad for a few weeks and it aborted. With a bit of luck, I may get some buds on new growth that has developed since.

Very nice. This one was on my wishlist, but it's too large for my space. I've pretty much run out of room, and I can't clear up enough space for bigger plants.

It is quite large: the leaves are about a foot and a half long
