My new Dendrochilum cobbianum

Here is one of my new purchases (it's official, I'm now an Orchid Addict).
Any tips or experiences concerning this plant would be greatly appreciated, as I have the bare minimum care instructions for it I just couldn't resist it!
Apparently best grown in hanging pots, baskets etc.
Temp: Intermediate to warm (min 12 Celsius)
50-60 % shade with high humidity (how high not sure?)
Rest. After flowering, withhold water for a couple of weeks.

I will be considering moving it to another Pot/Container once it has finished flowering, but it seems fine as it is for the time being. So far there are no signs of bud loss, and only a slight discolouration to one of the leaves.

It is also good to see that you recognilze your illness. But this one illness I hope no one ever finds a cure for.

Hi! I've got five different Dendrochilum species. From my experience they're pretty easy, not all that fussy about humidity or temps, but I would stress a couple of points. First, I don't think they need a rest or withholding water; most of these plants are water hogs and will amaze you with how much they can drink, and they're pretty heavy feeders, too. Also, I wouldn't move it from its current pot. Dendrochilums hate having their roots messed with, and some will actually skip a bloom season if you repot them. They love to be potbound, and you might find you actually get more blooms when they're cramped. Two of mine have their pseudobulbs spilling over the sides of their pots, and the blooms just get better every year. Good luck!

Interesting choices is one way of putting it
I'm really glad I got this one though. I did have a panic moment when I got it home of "How do I care properly for this one!?" and "What have I done!?"
But it really does seem fine, better than fine! The last of the blooms are staring to open and there are no signs of the plant being unhappy, shall we say!

Will I be getting another Dendrochilum? If this one is anything to go by, then quite simply put... YES!

I wouldn't worry about that for some time. As I mentioned, I have two which have pseudobulbs spilling over the sides of their pots, and they're both totally happy. If/when it comes time to do it, I would try to get the root ball out of the old pot with as little disturbance as possible, and then just slip it inside a one-size-bigger pot with fresh medium around the root ball. I'm guessing it will be a good few of years yet before I have to worry about a new pot. The pseudobulbs are no where near escaping the pot yet. Though I am actually quite looking forward to when (if) that day arrives, as it would mean some good growing has occurred.

This is a great looking orchid! I don't have one, but saw a large mounted one in the greenhouses of the botanical garden near where I live in NL. Once it gets bigger it'll be an impressive sight in bloom.
