Default Looking for Coelogyne suggestions.

Hey, everyone. I'm considering adding Coelogynes to my collection, but I'm not sure what species would do well in my area. I'm looking for warm-growing species or species that are able to withstand a high range of temperatures. The summers here are hot and humid, and the fall/winter temperatures can drop quite a bit (down to the lower 50's at night or even down to the upper 40's, depending on what the weather is like). I would think that the cool-growing species would thrive during the winter months but languish in the heat of spring and summer. Then again, I have no experience with this genus, so I'm not sure what to expect.

Any suggestions?

I'm growing Coelogyne cristata and so far it is doing fine. It is a OB project plant. The one we got for the project came from Andy's which is located in Calif. and is grown outside with similar temps. Check out his selections. http://www.andysorchids.com/Default.asp

Just checked it out. Usitana, Ochracea, Barbata, Lawrenceana, and cristata all look very nice. I think I might give one of them a try. I can't decide which to try first LOL.

went to BBG today.
saw in bloom in the tropical bog part of the conservatory Coelogyne rochussenii and Coel asperata,
warm and humid - along with the Vandas and mangroves.

looked great - would like one! where to get one for cheap. actually would be hard to replicate that humidity at home.
