Question Otochilus fuscus

Is anybody growing Otochilus? First-hand experience is always good to have to suppliment the info from the grower/seller. My Coelogynes [mooreanna and lawrenceana] are growing like weeds so I thought I would try one of these. It will be here shortly from Oakhill. Wish me luckand thanks.

a...well,okie-dokie. Guess I'll do what I can with the bit of info I have and post periodic updates for anyone interested in this species.Plant arrived mounted on cedar w/live sphag. padding, exelent condition,4 leafless back bulbs,3 mature p'bulbs, all around 2 to 3 inches[5 to 6 cm]tall and1/4 to 1/2 inch wide[1 to 2cm],and 3 new leads.Growth appears to be very similar to some Maxillarias w/new growth comming from mid-way up most recent p,bulbs suggesting a rather dense, climbing growth habit. Leaves are 10 to 12 inches[to 30cm] long,1/2 inch [1.5cm] wide, linear lanceolate, 1 or 2 per p,bulb. For more, refer to www.orchidspecies.com/otofuscus.htm.

Sorry can't help you with that one. I see you're a member of the Dunes society. They're a good bunch of folks! I miss them still but now that I live out in Novi, bit too far to travel for meetings LOL

Thanks Paul.Yes they are a fine group, becoming like family. Oto.fuscus is doing well mounted on cedar w/live moss.I'm told it's nicely fragrant, time will tell.
